While everyone is waiting for the apocalypse, YouTubers biggest fear is here the ADPOCALYPSE !! you might be wondering what is the Adpocalypse?? Well, I’m here to tell you everything about it so keep reading!!

YouTube updated its policies on Thursday to get more control over which videos can make money from ads, here are the requirements if you want ads on your YouTube videos, channels must reach 10,000 lifetime views and channels also have to go through a new application process to be approved for ads in the partner program to see if their channel is family friendly. YouTube spoke about the situation saying “This new threshold gives us enough information to determine the validity of a channel,” “It also allows us to confirm if a channel is following our community guidelines and advertiser policies, was by keeping the threshold to 10,000 views, we also ensure that there will be minimal impact on our aspiring creators” But not too many creators were pleased about the shrinking pool of advertisers that hurt many creators who helped build YouTube, providing the content that draws so many viewers., YouTuber Felix Kjellberg mostly knows as PewDiePie was the one who came up with the name “Adpocalypse” and also made a video called “YouTubePartyIsOver” which was almost immediately taken down from public mostly because the video contained PewDiePie pretending to shoot himself in the head over the loss of ad revenue and showing his fans how his videos now only make a “trickle of money” and how most of his recent videos were generating more money from YouTube Red, the subscription service, than from ads but a lot of people think that YouTube creators are going to be fine because “He could make no money in ads and he’s still got massive marketing potential for himself and anything he wants to sell for the rest of his life. YouTube is just one sliver of a much larger pie.” so it wouldn’t really affect a lot of big YouTubers because they have other ways to make money and were just apart of it and not the only way. Mr. Kjellberg also said he would launch his first Twitch channel, which is the gaming streaming platform owned by Amazon.  PewDiePie wasn´t the only YouTube creator who publicly spoke out about it in fact a lot of other big YouTubers made videos about how they feel about it and all of them were not very positive. Do you think ads are going to affect YouTube creators or they’re going to be fine without ads?
