Study while others are sleeping, Work while others are loafing, Prepare while others are playing, Dream while others are wishing.

Very soon, 8th graders will be entering their first year of high school. This is exciting, but also nerve wracking. Teachers are preparing the 8th graders for high school, however; it is what we choose to do for our Freshmen year, to follow the advice or simply not. Here will be a helpful guide for future Freshmens. It’s always better to know what to prepare for then to know right before high school starts.

Tips to prepare the first year

  • Get yourself a planner
  • Think about joining extracurriculars
  • Check the school websites for updates, student life, and what is expected
  • Talk to a trustworthy adult for their experience of high school life
  • Support and find yourself
  • Time management
  • Focus and concentrate
  • Learn from past mistakes
  • Become more organized
  • Improve crucial thinking skills
  • Develop vocabulary
  • Improve in mathematics skill
  • Establish a good routine
  • Do not procrastinate
  • Be positive
  • Stay on top of assignments
  • Be ready for challenges

These tips will be very helpful to prepare for high school. This does not mean to do everything all at once, creating stress. What matters most is that we try our best and hardest for a bright and successful future. We should also create new and special memories in the next four years. Time can fly by in the blink of an eye and then we’ll see ourselves applying for college or whatever you have planned after high school.
