 Jesse Lingard has signed a new four-year contract with Manchester United, with an option for a further year. Lingard’s wages will triple to about $100,000 a week as a consequence of the agreement. The 24-year-old who has over a year left on his previous terms, joined the United’s youth academy when he was seven years old. In 2011 he was given his first professional contract. Lingard established himself in the first team last season Louis Gaal, he had spent time on loan at Leicester City, Birmingham City, and Derby County. He made his first team debut at Old  Trafford against Swansea City on his opening day 2014/2015 season, he has made 70 appearances and 11 scoring goals. Lingard has said, “ Manchester United has always been a part of my life. I have been with the club since the age of seven and I feel great pride every time I pull the shirt on.” He has also said, “ To have scored in two cup finals for my boyhood club were immensely proud moments for me and my family. As a team, we have already won a major trophy this season and I look forward to helping us win many more under this great manager.” Jose Mourinho said, “ Jesse has good intelligence which, when combined with his energy and ability, makes for a player with a future ahead of him. Jesse is a popular member of the squad and I am delighted he [has signed a new contract.”
