On November 7th, there was a mass shooting at a California bar. 12 were killed including Sergeant Ron Helus. During these types of situations, people may think that gun control isn’t something we should worry about, but it is. Gun control is very important because events like these keep on happening constantly, and several lives have been lost by guns. It is said that Ian David Long, a shooter, was a former marine suffering from PTSD. If that had been the case in why he started this shooting, he shouldn’t have even owned a gun in the first place.

Many people blame shootings on mental illness and how we should focus on that instead of gun control. Yes, there is many things wrong with the world, but we can make a change in what we give the people. Gun control is a very serious topic and it is a topic we should meticulously focus on. There have been protests on gun control, but the NRA refuses on listening to the protesters and their thoughts on what they should change in the involvement on buying a gun. The legal age to buy a gun under federal law is 18 just to buy a rifle or shotgun, and 21 to buy a handgun from licensed dealers. Do you know how wrong it is for someone who is 18 to own a gun? Some of the most deadliest mass shooters have occasionally ranged from the ages 17-23. Every day, 96 Americans are killed with guns and hundreds more are shot and injured. This only includes Americans, imagine everyone else. All I am trying to say is that everyone in this world has to become better as a community to save the world from becoming more horrible then it already is.
