Recently Samsung released their new phone, the Samsung S8 it has changed from its predecessor, the Samsung S7 Edge. Everyone is excited about it and fans are claiming it’s better than the Edge 7 and the iPhone 7 already. But, is it all that?

It comes with an all new display that Samsung is calling the ¨Infinity Display¨ the regular sized S8 is rocking a 148.9 x 68.1 x 8mm display and the + size is holding a 159.5 x 73.1 x 8.1mm display. With the new Infinity Display, Samsung took off the physical home button and swapped it for on-screen buttons. And yes the Samsung S8 does have an audio jack, unlike another phone … But instead of the standard micro USB charging port that Samsung usually uses, the S8 has adopted a new charging port, type-c just like the Google Pixel or LG V20. Also, the Phone will have its fingerprint scanner on the back, which a lot of fans are already disliking due to its odd placement in portion of some people’s fingers. To add to the con, there is an extra button (Bixby button) under the volume buttons that people dislike because they are misclicking them when performing a different action.

The phone comes out in April 21st, 2017 so not too far away. It will come in five types of colors, Midnight black, Orchid Gray, Coral Blue, Artic Silver, and Maple Gold. The regular sized S8 will start at the cost of $720 ($30 monthly for 24 months), but the plus size will start at the whopping cost of $840 ($35 monthly for 24 months). Some carriers that will have this phone are Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint.

Now let’s talk about the specs. Thankfully, the S8 is water and dust resistant like its previous predecessor, but Samsung states it is water resistant up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes. It will also feature a new A.I. Bixby that will perform as your personal assistant. The OS that Samsung chose for this phone is Android 7.0 (Nougat). The S8 has the battery capacity of 3000mAh, but the S8+ holds a littler more at 3500mAh. So the S8 has about an 11-67 hours depending on what you do, and the S8+ has 13-78 hours. It is capable of fast charging and wireless charging. When you buy the phone is will come packaged with the device itself, a USB cable, a pair of AKG earphones, an ejection pin, a USB power adaptor, the quick start guide, a USB Connector (Type-C), and the micro USB connector.

So it comes back down to the question, is it all that? I will share my opinion and a lot of other people’s opinion. Yes, it is worth it, it’s worth the upgrade from the S7 and it’s worth the change from your iPhone. If you want to find out some more about the phone you can visit their website.
