Someone is being pushed, they get help from a bystander. You watch all of this while walking in the hall but what if they didn´t help? What if that was the person´s breaking point and was crying out for help but no one heard. Not only can this lead to effecting the family but it can also lead to isolation. Nikolas Jacob Cruz was described as a loner by a former classmate. He was expelled February 8th 2017 from Parkland, Florida, high school for disciplinary reasons. Three days later he bought many guns. On February 14th around 2:30 Nikolas Jacob Cruz started shooting with a AR-15 Style Rifle and carried multiple magazines. When students heard gun shots they ran to classrooms. Nikolas then entered the school grounds and started shooting through walls while many students were videotaping. 17 students and faculty were reported dead and 14 injured. Nikolas was only 19 years old with a mental illness and a terrible past. You would think that when the school learned that he had depression and his mother died at a young age they would keep an eye on him. No, they thought he was fine, when his adoptive parents saw he had many guns they didn´t say anything. When he posted on his instagram about killing his classmates, no one reported him. When deputies were called to the Cruz family home 39 times since 2010, police didn´t question the household. When he was severely bullied no one stood up for him. I´m not saying it could have been prevented but he obviously thought this through if he pulled the fire alarm and waited. He came from a terrible past, joked about killing people, and was expelled when provoked by his bullies. There were signs from the beginning pointing towards his breaking point by crying out for help, but no one listened. No one noticed how he was slowly falling apart, all he needed was someone to pick him up after he fell. He is now awaiting trial for Thursday, February 15th at 2:30 p.m. and most likely will rot in a cell for the rest of his life. He is now facing 17 counts of premeditated murder with no bond and is now being sent to another judge. He is also on suicide watch and are checking his sanity. Our condolences go out to the victim´s family and those involved with this terrible event.
